The Newport News Green Foundation endeavors to preserve a greener future and to enhance the beauty of the City of Newport News. It is a commitment that takes an entire community’s support and dedication.
In 2008, the Board of Directors of the Newport News Green Foundation established the Green Awards to recognize businesses throughout the city that maintain landscaping which enhances the beauty of Newport News. Green Award recipients set an example for the community and encourage others to make a visible difference in our city. Each year, one recipient is chosen from each of the three voting districts in the city: North, Central, and South.
In 2016, the Board of Directors added to the awards by establishing the Green Maintenance Award to recognize the ongoing efforts of past Green Award recipients to maintain and enhance their properties.
Green Award Nominations
- Organizations can be nominated for a Green Award year-round!
- Green Awards are typically selected in the fall and awards are presented at our annual fundraiser Party at the Pond.
