The Newport News Green Foundation endeavors to preserve a greener future and enhance the beauty of the City of Newport News. This commitment requires the support and dedication of an entire community.
The Green Awards, established in 2008, are designed to honor businesses and organizations that significantly contribute to our community’s overall beauty and health through their landscaping efforts and property maintenance. The board will select up to three new award winners in the following categories:
- Beautification: Recognizing visually appealing landscaping and maintenance;
- Eco-Friendly Landscaping: Focusing on native plants and environmentally friendly designs;
- Ongoing Maintenance: For past honorees who have continued their efforts.
A People’s Choice award will also be given to the public’s favorite from the current year’s awardees.
All nominees must be located within the City of Newport News.

- Organizations can be nominated for a Green Award year-round!
- Green Awards are typically selected in the fall and awards are presented at our annual fundraiser Party at the Pond.
