Event Description:
With the recent Metro Richmond water crisis of January 2025, many people are asking, “What’s to keep that from happening where I live and work?” The answer is continual efforts in planning, resiliency, innovation, and learning from the past. Newport News Waterworks has been on the journey for over a century to become one of the most resilient water utilities around. Approaches to be shared will include redundancies, preventative maintenance, implementation of Effective Utility Management practices, and most importantly, employees with incredible sense of pride in providing one of the basic necessities of life to over 410,000 people in Virginia’s lower peninsula.
